On to Mt Isa
Back on the Road which have now been all sealed since Ayers Rock and with a speed limit 0f 130 KLM per hour the miles flew bye. I sit on 110 KPH to keep the fuel use down, but, it was good not having to check ones speed or worse getting a speeding fine'
Our back up battery that runs the fridge and computer at night had moved and the Plus terminal which was taped up had touched the tray and shorted and broke a wire inside the battery cover, I made a temp repair and when we got to Tenant Creek I brought a new terminal to replace the damaged one. and we also got a nice Star chip on the windscreen.
At the Devils Marbles we took a break and had a look around, in the camp area a very old Dingo was laying out enjoying all the attention. Like others, we also took a few photos.
Refueling and shopping again at Tenant Creek we keep going north for 25 K then turned onto the Barkley Hwy with a long run to Mt Isa. The country side was different with the vegetation very close to the road in parts. A lot more bird life was present and we started seen flocks of Budgies zooming across all around us. Teresa did not believe me that they were budgies until she snapped a photo then zoomed and cropped it in the camera and that clearly showed a green budgie..
A lot of larger prey looking birds were along the road, i think they are Kytes?, I had Teresa ask the name on them in a service station, but, she came back saying the woman said I don't Know their big and noisey things.
We spent another night in a rest area with other campers, the couple next door were from Bunbury and were on the way to Cairns to see family. They had driven the long way keeping to the sealed roads. The weather was now getting a lot warmer and when we drove into Mt Isa it was 31 deg C.
