We arrived in town at about 11 am, the first objective was to get the ute booked into the Nissan dealer to get the 12 Month service, as 12 months ownership would be up on 6th May.
At the Nissan Dealer they told us it would be four days before they could book us in as they were all booked out.
even tho we explained we were travelling through the girl said we should have rang four days ago, she could not understand that that was not realistic.
we got the Nissan oil filter from them and found out what the exact correct oil was and purchased the oil at K mart.
As we went around town trying to find a place that could do the service on short notice we found the RACQ repairer that would take the job on first thing the next morning, so we left the filter and oil with them, we had settled on the price and it was all go go.
Back at the Caravan Park Teresa was speaking to the owner about our hard to get service and when she mentioned the place who were going to do it he said that they were no good and he would check out another place that could be trusted, He rang some place named Kevs automotive and kev told him he could do it after lunch.
With our oil and filter at the RACQ place we decided they can not be that bad, but when we turned up in the morning, they decided that they wanted another $50 than agreed. I told them that was more than the Nissan dealer was going to charge and could I please have the oil and filter back. he girl just gave them back and we walked out. Back at the caravan park the owner rang kev and said he might get us in at about 1015 am, but he said to go straight around as it could be quicker if we were there. we met Kev and he said he could start , but best come back at 10am. The ute had its service, but Kev said that our right front tyre was wearing out and that I should go back to Nissan to report it as the ute had only 14000 K's on the clock He also said I should go to a tyre place and have alignment done to see what was really going on. Once again the Nissan dealer was hopeless and didn't want to know about. with the alignment done the bloke said that there had been too much weight on it ( our slide camper I guess) and to get Nissan to recorded it against the vehicle record for further reference.
During the Night at about 1230 am, we had our first lot of rain it bucketed down we were high and dry, but the camper floor did get a pool of water that we think came in from the door area.
We were back on the road heading towards Cloncurry at about 3 pm.
