Ayers Rock to The Alice
As sun set over the rock, hundreds of tourist were there to see it, the coach viewing area was crammed with about 50 plus AAT buses and in the Public viewing area we were lucky to get a parking space.
With a two hour time difference from WA we decided we had better stay at the resort camping ground at $36 with no power for the night, however the hot showers were worth every cent of the $36.
Travelling these outback roads at Dusk in Australia good is not a good Idea, as Kangaroos are on the move in the dark and can cause a lot of damage to a vehicle.
After a good nights sleep, a refueled ute and a few snacks for us it was on to Alice Springs.
We have been this route a few times before so Alice was really just a fuel and shop stop, we did spend most of the afternoon there, before deciding to push further north.
Traffic on the roads had really increased and the amount of Caravans with grey nomads was unbelievable. Two massive Army tanks were being transported north an they had people blocking the road at a road house taking photos. 80 klm north of Alice Springs we stopped for the night with a few other people also camping near the road.
