All these woman knew Teresa loved fruit and would greet us as if we were a ATM machine |
Hoi An was our next two night stop, our accommodation voucher was for a home stay and our host was there to meet us when our bus pulled in. Our room was fantastic, but, it's location was about 2 K's away from all the main attractions. To make up for this the host ran what he called a shuttle service, his own vehicle back and forth to his down town tour office, drop us off and when we wanted to go back to the home stay we headed back to the office and one of the girls would ring him and he would be there within five minutes.
Hoi An is a must see town on any tour taken through Vietnam. It is well know not only for it's sights but one can have any type of clothes or shoes made for a reasonable price. A sketch or a picture of clothing will have them get to work to produce the article to your satisfaction. We found the prices have now gone over the top, but every thing is up for negotiation.

Our open tour bus drove off while we were at a toilet stop.
We were told 30 min break, but the bus took off leaving us all stranded the driver and his off sider
came back on a motorbike and after they had eaten took off again, another hour went by before they re appeared
with the Bus. We were subject to over pricing in the Cafe and two woman running scams as the other tour buses came and went. They were asking visitor where they came from and then asking for coins and that they collected coins. They both got as many coins as they could from people who were glad to hand them over, they would allow the victims to select a worth less plastic bracelet . One girl from the US said I just paid $12 us for this bit of Plastic.I told a young couple when they were approached that it was a scam and they just said yeh it's just part of the Vietnam experience to which Teresa replied that a funny experience being ripped off. |
