Their has been no internet with our provider for the last few days so I have a bit of catching up to do
We left Kalgoorlie late in the morning on the 26th and drove on to leonora, had a lot of mining trafic on the road hauling long and wide loads in a 8 truck convoy The mining convoy was stuck behind a four trailer road train that really slowed up the works.
Just as we were arriving into leonora we decided to take a break and check out a
old mining town, its sort of all run down and left as if people just walked out of the place.

After we filled the ute up we headed to Laverton. It was about 1963 when I was there last, so it was all new to me. we checked out the Hospital that my Dad built in the early 70's went and got a bit of information at the tourist office, just before it shut for the day and decided we would free camp along the road a a place they told us about further up the road.
Laverton was the last of the sealed road, the next 1100 odd Klm was all dirt road to Ayres rock.
we stopped for the night at a nice spot ( a view point). we had a very quite night with only about 5 cars going by in the early part of the night. followed by one at about 1.30 am. The night sky was fantastic and the milky way was just above our heads.
Will get this posted now hope theirs not too many mistakes.
