24 April 2012
Over the past few weeks we (Teresa and Mike) have been busy sorting out our 4WD ute for
the drive across Australia from Perth WA to the top of Cape York QLD.
The plan is to travel across central Australia via the Great Central road from Laverton to Ulura and beyond.
The first part of the journey is Perth - Kalgoorlie - Laverton - Warburton - Docker River -Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and Uluru (Ayers Rock)
We have set our Nissan Navara 4WD with a new canvas camper that folds out from on top of the utes tray,
which will provide us with a double size bed and a small living area,
Our original Plan was to use our slide on camper, but with the weight of the camper (800KG) and the lack of room to carry extra water and spare wheels etc. along with several hundreds of klm of unsealed roads we decided to play it safe so to speak.
We have all the permits to Cross both WA and NT Aboriginal lands, so its all go go on 25th April.
