When the new year (2015) arrived we had a year of travel planned.
Our first venture was a month long trip to Vietnam. We have toured Vietnam four times before so we knew what areas to target along with new areas that we had not ventured into before. I see on this blog it was eight months ago that I posted images from that trip, how time has flown, Our next trip was to travel to Tasmania. our intentions were to drive a camper van that we had fitted out,
As luck had it two French girls decided that they wanted the van, so being a good pair of Aussies we let them purchase it and head off on a Australian adventure. This did not stop us driving across Australia yet again, this time in a small Mazda 2 with a instant pop up tent for accommodation. We could not believe how much money we saved on the fuel bill.
We normally travel to see family living there and manage a property we have in Penguin at least twice a year.

Lucky for us we had a very smooth crossing of the Bass Straight |
Half way across we pass our sister ship |
On the return trip we were resting at the foreshore in Ceduna South Australia while checking our emails and noticed a cruise we were interested in had dropped in price, so there and then we booked the 14 day cruise departing Singapore and ending in Brisbane
Ship P&O Pacific Jewel |
We had not been to Semarang, Komodo Island or PNG before.
So that's why we planned this cruise

Friends from a previous cruise ( five years ago) were there right in front of us. They knew we were going on this cruise and wanted to Surprise us.
We spent the cruise dinning and shore excursions together, The cost of our shore adventures were halved as we just split the bills every where we went. Thanks Ella and Peter you saved us thousands , well hundreds.
One very noisy arrival into Semarang |
