We had two flights from Perth to Hanoi our fears of flying Air Asia had gone..
Our layover was overnight at KL. Air Asia no longer use LCCT but the international Air port which is massive (landing late at night then a early morning flight) meant we had to hang around the terminal over night.
On arrival into Hanoi I was surprised to see so much smog as we touched down, it was very bad indeed. cont below.

Un knowen to us, we landed at a brand spanking new terminal 2 that had just opened two weeks ago, so every thing I had read on the net about getting in to Hanoi using public transport was changed as now we had to get back to terminal 1 , in the end a free bus took us to bus 17 and we paid 9,000 Dong each ( about 15,000 dong to 1 AUD) for a one hour twenty min bus ride into the city. From the bus terminal we started to find our way through the maze of streets to our hotel. At one stage a shop owner used google on his phone to find directions 6 streets ahead , turn right 3 then on the left, well done we got there. We had booked into the Atrium Hotel, for 3 nights. What a Gem nice clean and quite and the owner - operator ( Nuyen ) is very switched on and could not be more helpful, she always made time for us, such a nice smart operator in her twenties.
