Faces and Places Pic set 2 Italy/Sicily Tour (click on images to enlarge)

Palermo

My human GPS checks with a local on the whereabouts of  Mount Etna.
We knew we were close but Etna was nowhere to be seen.
He gave us directions and explained that Etna was covered with a very dark cloud. but,  normally could  be
seen from there.  As we followed the directions he gave, I realized that a Pajero was tailgating us.
I pulled over to let them pass and then realized it was the same man and he wanted us to follow him.
He took us in a back way and pointed out this cobble stone road that we should follow to the base of Mount Etna.
Before we parted we had a coffee in a Cafe and Teresa practiced her Italian, Talking about Italians who migrated to Australia and about the Volcano itself.

Following his Pajero

Mount Etna is pictured behind that very black cloud

We followed this road until we could go no further and we never did see the mountain
only the Lava from past events

We took a night ferry back across to the main land and as we try to keep
off the  Autostrata (as you see a lot more of the real country side),  we were stopped by
a
traffic accident that blocked the road and we ended up having to find a different route.
