Driving back to Perth we decided to take a alternate route from Norsman to Perth via Hyden .
This route is about 80 odd Klm shorter, but, has 260 klm of unsealed road, 99,9% of travellers
take the sealed routes via Coolgardie or Espeance to Perth.
We normally travel via Coolgardie, however, in Norsman we asked about the unsealed roads condition
to Hyden and were told it had all just been graded. Having never driven this route home we decided to give it a go. The road (although unsealed) was fantastic and our overnight stop at The Breakaways was just breath taking.
