Travelling across OZ Again (click on the images to enlarge)
Sorry about the lack of activity on the blog, but, we are now travelling again and hope to get a few images on the blog and if and when a Internet connection permits. Our travel plans have changed a few times over the last few week. We had outfitted a VW van into camper van and planned to take across Australia to Tasmania, then sell the van on our return home. The though was at least we would get some use out of the van after all the work we did. Wrong. I decided I would be putting to much wear and tare on it so offered it up for sale on Gum tree a buy and sell web site thats' in Australia and else where. Over a five day period I had 216 hits and about 8 callers who said they were interested Most of the callers were from the country areas in south west WA. We ended up selling to a couple who just loved it and couldn't wait to drive it away. I want to visit people who live on the east Coast of Australia so we loaded up our slide on camper on our ute and headed off for the long drive across Australia via the Eyre and other connecting highways. We departed home just after mid day on Sunday the 23rd March. Our slide on camper is equipped with all the mod cons like toilet and two showers (one inside/one outside) with hot and cold running water. all we have to do it keep the water up to it. One day one we got to 80 KLM west of Coolgardie and pulled of into a camp site with several other campers that were staying for the night. The next day we spent most of the morning catching up with two of my cousins (Alan and Roy ) and of cause Aunty Betty who will be 99 years old later in the year. we also caught up with Roy's wife but missed seeing my other cousin Fran. At 98 Aunty Betty looked good but, both boys said she has good days and bad days. The Boys are doing a fab job along with other family members keeping her alive and well and at home with no outside help.
