San Francisco

13th September 2012.

We arrived in San Francisco after two city stop over in Asia.
In KL the time just flew by (seven Days) we managed to get out and
about every day, mostly visiting shopping complexes also we went to Genting
High lands and another trip up to the Cameron Highlands.
In the Cameron Highlands we had a one night stay that should have been at least two as  there is a  few places to visit by taking tours to see the different attractions. Teresa has already said she wants to go back for a few nights stay.
The Genting Highlands has a cable car that is 3.4 KM in length that takes you up to the large complex of shops , hotels casino etc. The cable car ride is really fantastic
and well worth the two odd dollars cost each way as it is very scenic.
We stayed in a Hotel in the centre of the markets in China town and found the staff very helpful and friendly and every thing was within easy walking distance including
both the mono rail, light rail and the free pink and other buses.
Teresa was there to shop and our 13 kilo case quickly increased in weight, I also had to buy a small back pack to use as carry on luggage.
Hong Kong was the usual mad house,
This time we stayed in the Mong Kok area just across the road from the Ladies Market and a million mobile telephone shops.
All our other visits here we have stayed along Nathan road on the mainland but close to the Star Ferry.
This time we had a room on the 14th floor and as usual the lifts in these complexes are very busy, however this time we only had to wait for the lift to go up and come down once which, was most unusual compared to other places we have stayed in.
The first day we were there we took the Star Ferry over to the main Island and found that they have been very busy building these walk ways that take you most places, but overall  a lot of new building work is going on around the water front and the main area here is mainly business and banks etc.
We spent a few hours there, before Teresa decided that there was not enough shops
to look at so it was back to the main land.

On way to San Francisco

It's a rather long story, however, we are off travelling again.
It all started with a delay between flights at KL airport when we got stuck at
the airport over night due to a unserviceable aircraft.  The day after we arrived, home Airasia sent us a email saying how sorry they were and offered us a credit shell of 1400 MOP that must be used within 3 months. Decided to look at there web site  and  found very cheap flights up to KL at A$152 ea and back  home for A$79 ea
Knowing  KL has cheap accommodation and lots of things to see and do like great shopping etc. we booked flights to KL one way and then waited for the credit to be put in our account to get us back home.
While we waited for the credit a email arrived from Princess Cruises  that offered us a $4,990 , 26 day cruise for $1,690 to cruise the South Pacific from San Francisco to Sydney.  We decided this offer was  to good  to miss so looked at how we would get to San Francisco we managed to use our credit shell to get to Hong kong from KL  then a flight with AA/JAL to San  Francisco for  $A596 ea.
So here we are spending six days in KL and four days in Hong Kong on route to San Francisco.
